Mark4The most authentic battle reporter (written by Johnny_Vegas) What's there to say about Mark4 that could do him justice? A man that not only writes about battles, but is a trained killer in real life? One of the most genuine human beings you could ever know, Mark4 was the heart and soul that helped launch BattleReports.com. He has a razor edged, precision writing style which is remarkably similar to how he plays the game. This report a good seven years old, shows that Mark4's reports contained a great knowledge of the game, written with intelligence and humor. His style of "great writing with a dash of humor, and complete understanding of his material" was what made him a battle reporting legend. Now most people will realize that Elm’s quick gas build sucks unless he had a plan to use that gas in the early mid game. And a plan he had. While the previous conflict had been taking place, Elm had sent his first two dark templar moving to ward the scene of the battle. They quickly chopped down all three defending sunkens in the middle left and forced the drones to flee. Also posted under the handle AQD3 History It was the spring of 1999. The idea for the site came from reading Mark4's excellent reports in the battle.net strategy and tactics forums. His battle.net name was originally Falarn, when I met him. We played some great games as teammates, and he told me he was going to write up some reports about our game on the forums. I had been doing some php/mysql work at web hosting company I had been working at for a year or so, and thought it a tragic waste that all of Mark4's battle reports were soon buried under the rubble of S&T forum posts. So one day I said, hey lets start a web site so we can archive these reports. It didn't take long to agree on the domain name, battlereports.com. TODO (Added by Psyonic_Reaver) |
