4/24/05: Report on World HungerDrefsab
Johnny Vegas contacted me out of the blue and asked me to write a report on a game called Food Force. It is an educational computer game produced by the UN World Food Programme and my mission, to quote Vegas, "dude, you should BR this and make fun of starving refugees!" So I downloaded the game, and turned out it had a lot of good materiel so I decided to go ahead and do it. You can check it out here.

12/27/04: Pair of 6's? You Bastard!Drefsab
I was playing 3 tables of .05/.10 No Limit Hold 'Em and was tilting a bit perhaps. I got dealt a pair of 6's on the button and raised about 40 cents. Everyone folded around the table and one player re-raised to $1.50. He only had about $5.50 in his stack so I re-raised all-in. This was the result.

11/14/04: More About PokerDrefsab
I have been playing a lot of Poker lately (see my updated About Page) so expect to see more posts about it. This is a screenshot of my first straight flush. I'm sure you've all seen them before but its still a beautiful thing to witness. Here it is in all its glory.

9/26/04: Poker BattlereportDrefsab
I ended my reporting hiatus at battlereports.com to submit the first Poker battlereport. The report chronicles a $20 No Limit Hold 'em Sit 'n Go that I recently participated in. You can read it here.

6/12/04: Playing With GirlsDrefsab
You've always gotta be suspiscious when you find some "girls" on the Battle.net. But rarely are they ever this careless.

7/29/03: Updated FictionDrefsab
3 years ago I wrote a story called When Two Worlds Collide and posted it at battlereports.com. Of all the things I ever did while posting there, this is one thing people still comment on. After it came up in conversation the other day, I went back to the original story and reread it and the comments section. Doing this once again reminded me of a variety of problems (grammatical and plot) that I've always meant to fix but never got around to. Today I decided to fix these things. This page now has the only authoritative version of the story. Of course you could always go back and read the original if you're a purist... ;)

One thing that has always bugged me was the obscene number of paragraphs. Back then I couldn't go for more than a couple of sentences without starting a new one. A lack of stamina some might say... That's a relatively minor change but it makes the story flow so much smoother.

More importantly, the ridiculous scheme that Justin came up with involving a frying pan, rope and women's underwear is gone. For some reason I stared at that section for hours trying to figure out how to handle it and when I read it again this week the solution was elegant and simple.

Finally, I tried to clean up a few consistencies at the end and gave Justing just a moment to feel some real remorse before facing his inevitable consequences for his misdeeds.

Anyway, I think the story reads a lot better now. These fixes are itches that I've wanted to scratch for a long time now and I think I'm finally satisified with it. You can check it out again (or for the first time) here. As always, feedback can be sent via e-mail.

6/20/03: New FictionDrefsab
I've added a new piece of short fiction to the Fiction Page. Its called Xanax and Zambia and its probably more of a rambling than anything else. Its basically a free write on some random thoughts that came together one night. You can e-mail me if you have any feedback.
