I thought this game was pretty one-sided. Zerg had no offense at -all-. At many many points zerg could have opted to hit terran's main. Or at least test his D. Instead zerg simply left his troops lying around idle, waiting to defend again.
With no pressure on him, terran simply rotated around the map to take new nodes as he mined out the old ones. It was good defense by zerg, but overall not a very interesting game. |

1ee7, are you fucking insane? you did WATCH the game, right? The game was tight, period. Ur right, though. Zerg shouldn't sit in open ground waiting to attack and flank, they should fly to that tight choke and attack stimmed rines/tank/vess head on!!! woohoo!!!! gg, terran wins?
Zerg did the smart thing when waiting on terran to come out, cuz flanking/pincering is the only way to beat them down. But he COULDA went for the terran main a few times. Thing is, zerg never had the ENTIRE map where he could just afford to lose 2-3 bases and he'd be fine. I think he was playing it safe by trying to save his bases. But, whatever. Zerg has to wait for terran to leave his choke to attack him on the ground.
Anyway, great game. Almost all nodes used up. Can't fault that shit.

Where did I say he should mindless hit his ramp. I said test his D. yes, that could mean see if the ramp is defended. If you would actually watch the replay, you'd see plenty of moments where zerg seriously outnumbered him and could have taken terran's ramp.
But that's not the only way to go. A smart drop on terran's main would, at the very least, have dealt serious damage and probably forced terran's genitalia to retreat into his abdomen. If not win the game outright. There's also the possiblity of a drop + ramp hit combo run.
As it was, terran was free to play balls-out and hit hit hit. |

Here's a few key points:
22 thru 24 mins into the game:
Zerg has a control group of lurks plus a mass of hydras. Terran just got wiped out. He had 2-3 minutes to drop his main. Instead, he sat back.
33 minutes into the game:
Zerg has 5 nodes + a lurker/hydra horde. Terran drops 1 node with a massive army. Zerg should realize that there no way terran can defend his main. If zerg drops terran at this time, terran loses all his nodes and zerg at worst loses two nodes. GG. Instead, zerg inexplicably tries to defend. they trade armies and zerg misses his win right there.
40-43 minutes:
Terran pulls his entire force to defend an xp. 1 bunker protects his ramp. Zerg actually tests his D by sacrificing an ovie to look! It was obvious that zerg could run terran's main over. Instead he attacks at heart of terran's highly defend xp. Terran would have lost all of his unit-producing structures. I wanted to punch the monitor.

45 minutes:
Zerg builds a second force and attacks terran's main! Terran obviously had given it up a long time ago and floats away. But the thing is, he's had those 6 minutes to set up that budding base which shouldn't have happened.
53 minutes:
Zerg does a drop, but at a spot where he's been dropping and terran was waiting for it. That doesn't make me as mad but you gotta know where the troops are.

56 minutes:
Barf. Zerg has 6 nodes. Terran has moved out on a major assault on some of them. Zerg has a massive army too. Once again, zerg makes the mistake of direct confrontation. He can easily wipe out terran's bases now, trading 2-3 zerg nodes for all terran nodes because he knows where terran's troops are. And Zerg actually fights it off, but just doesn't understand how to test the d before striking. He actually would have been better served to counter. Terran was at his supply limit of ~140 and couldn't make the troops to defend a drop around the tanks.
58 minutes - 1 hour
Terran moves out again. Zerg once again can trade a couple of his nodes for all of terran's but just hides.
From there zerg basically stop doing anything.

Eriador only owned himself. Just because one side missed multiple win scenarios doesn't mean it was not one-sided. It was one-sided because only one side had any offense. GJ missing the entire point.

| Horrible game. Torture to watch zerg player frozen with no idea what to do after 30 minute mark. Was he psyched out? He sits around multiple times at 200 supply, not doing anything. Terran did a great job scrambling when opponent is indecisive from an unwinnable position; for a long time he had NO gas. 1:16 hour, most of it sad Z display, great T scrambling. Terran makes liberal use of magic in the for of SVs. What about zerg? Why not get some queens or defilers. No idea how to win. And what was with non-upgraded ultras? 3/1 ultras??? Get some armor man, with all those marines around. |

| Zerg AI changed in one of the patches, I think SCLegacy has something you can dl to make it work. It makes starcraft play in 1.09 or something. |
