- they're going to have a content patch that adds some bnet features at some point in the beta. no info on what these will be. - statistically, terrans are slight underdogs in all matchups - in general though, they're happy about the win/loss stats and it seems relatively balanced overall - they're going to continue developing bnet after launch, and plan to add major features, including some tourney/esport stuff. think that covers most of what actually mattered. :o

I used acronis to move some partitions on my hard drive, so Windows Restore no longer works properly. Need a replacement. From what I have heard, said replacements should be far better anyway. So suggestions please.

  Yeah I can create disk image as the ultimate backup. But what I am really looking for is a quick fixit for random fuck-ups that can occur. For example, I notice that some of my system settings have gotten arbitrarily wacky and I cannot track down what I did. Or I install some piece of software and it fucks with my system. It's not a big deal and I don't want to re-image my whole system and potentially deal with saving data I have added since then and programs I have installed. With system restore, I can just roll it back a few days and be fine. It's a quick convenient fix for minor issue.

Just sold a couch on craigslist. Chick shows up agrees to buy it for $80 asks if I know someone with a truck to move it. Tell her I'll ask my roomate. He agrees for 20$ we drive it there and drop it off, on the way back cop pulls roommate over and gets an $80 ticket for tinted windows. I gave him $20 to help pay the fine. That a good amount? I'm sick of this PC constantly breaking bullshit - Pitt [21 hr]
and happy to pay the extra $300 to have some peace of mind. My dell out of the box had the following problems: 1. Touchpad locked up and didn't work 2. DVD drive constantly overheated or overspun(is that a word?) and skipped no matter what DVD was in it. 3. Flash constantly crashed I since installed software and started customizing this thing. After a while I got fed up with problems 1 & 3 (I fixed 2 by myself) and called Dell. They proceeded to try and fix the problem via a webex session that took my PC (necessary for work) away for 2+ hours. After that my problems weren't fixed and my PC started doing random stuff such as shutting down randomly, powering on randomly, running chkdsk on boot up (never a good sign), etc. The laptop is 45 days out of the box. I tried to talk to India and they hemmed and hawed about how they would fix it if I sent it to them (turnaround of 6 weeks). I told them they were crazy and that would never happen. Here&...

      Last crash I remember was several years ago. Granted, I build my own systems, but when I used Dell, they never crashed either. I think people tend to take their bad experience and extrapolate that to the entire category. I mean, by all means get a mac if you want to. I got a desktop 24" mac and macbook air for my gf, and loves both. The mac desktop is up 24/7 because it has to run VOIP phone, and it never has any issues. My point is, most computers work just fine. You are likely just having bad luck with yours or broke something yourself without realizing it.

  I have had two dell laptops and I purchased extended warranties on both of them (laptops are the ONLY item I think it's worth getting an extended warranty on). I have had problems with both of them, but under all cases they have sent a tech to my location to swap out hardware and it has fixed the problem. Because I paid for better support, I think I have gotten native English speakers every time I've called in. My girlfriend on the other hand, has a dell laptop that has had many problems, did not buy extra warranty as I recommended, and she's received shitty support.

    I had a similar experience to you, I had an XPS laptop and bought the extended warranty. When my video card failed and my bluetooth failed, they sent the tech over and they replaced the parts. In fact, the parts they gave me were even better than the failed hardware. My buddy has had a horrible experience with dell hardware, but Dell has been AMAZING at satisfying him. He also had a XPS laptop, and his vid card failed. A tech came by and fixed his card, but a few weeks later he called Dell again and complained that it was overheating. Dell agreed to send him a better XPS to replace his old one. The great part though is that they never asked him to send the old one back. So, he has two XPS laptops at this point. Then, he called Dell AGAIN and complained that his new one was way too hot and that he wanted a new alienware. Dell sent him a fucking SLI quad core alienware to replace his already replaced XPS, and they STILL didn't get him to send back the old one. This fuck...

      I Built my own PC with quality hardware and have had less than 5 BSODs in 3 years - and I was running Vista for a good chunk of that time. The PC I built before that was also very reliable. Maybe I'm just lucky, I dunno. I've also got a Sony Vaio laptop that's a couple years old and still runs like a champ. No idea if they are still good though.

    you might just be a super good poker player. For people like me, it is really hard. I don't think I could beat NL50 without table selection on most sites. The really shocking thing is how easy it was 3 years ago. Also, I've realised how unsustainable the "good" winrates were even 3 years ago. At the time I thought "wow, he must be a good player", and of course, that person might have been, but he could also just have run really hot over 100k hands, which is so doable. It's just like with mutual funds - if you have 5000 of them, some are going to crush for 5+ years. This isn't to say there isn't a huge amount of skill in poker, but someone having 8ptbb/100 for 100k hands is really nothing when that person has self-selected to post their graph of 2p2 out of 5000 poker players who played 100k hands.

My main problem with it is how the game promotes camping, its better to just hide, get kills with claymores/scoped shots while you have scavenger on to keep your claymores coming. Doing this gets you going on a kill streak, which if you keep it up it just continues on and on until you nuke everyone and end the shit. And it is just too hard to get people out of certain areas after they have set up camp. Pretty much everyone realizes this so that is all anyone does anymore.

        and my point is as follows. If the photo is the property of the family. Then they have every right to dictate it's use. If, however, the photo is considered to be in the wild (which I believe is the case) then I find it unconscionable for the government to say "use x of free expression is okay but use y is not.". It's basically the government saying "were goin to legislate what is or is not okay for people to think about when viewing this photo" PS: I'd be okay if this fell under something like the child porn laws where NOBODY is able to publish the photo.
